Also - bra sizes are adjustable.. If you are wider around, go up a cupsize. So if you're a 42 B that translates into a 40 C or a 38D. That's been what's worked for me and what the lady at the fitting place I went to told me. -reba.

Lane Bryant carries these sizes online in their Cacique stuff. I believe I have seen those sizes at the stores as well. On a side note, you don't sound very sure of your bra size. You may consider going to a nice store to get measured and try on a few to see what size you tend to like best. For me, it varies with the bra style as well. I know Lane Bryant and Dillards are two stores that will measure you if you ask.

I don't think that works quite that way, Reba. With my normal bra size, I cannot imagine being comfortable in a band size that was 2 inches smaller and bigger in the cup. I could be wrong though.

The best place I've found place with the most variety of sizes and brands and styles is HerRoom.com They have even the really hard to find sizes(both larger and smaller, and unusual cup/band ratios). They have a "bra-finder" too(to the right of the page I linked to). You put in your bra size and color/style preferences, and they will show you everyhting in that particular size and style. I love their store! They very some very pricey brands, but some are just average. I've ordered from them for years(it's the only place I get my bras) and they have great customer service.

That's why I order mine. I don't have an overly large band size(38), but I do have a large cup size and they are seldom carried even in a specialty store. And when I do find them, the choices are very limited, mostly to old lady iron maiden bras...no thanks!

Many department stores (Macy's, Nordstrom's, Bloomingdale's, etc.)--I know they can be spendy, but they are having summer clearances now--have bra sizing events that coincide with sales on certain brands. They always have trained personnel to measure and assist in finding items for you to try on. What can it hurt to give them a call?

go to nordstorm. I totally thought I was a smaller size which meant I was on the hard to find shelf but I can actually buy a regular size.

I just went to a Bali/Haynes outlet today and got measured again. Losing weight meant my VS bras just were not cutting it any more. They had a great seletion of tons of different sizes and brands. I also went to Layne Bryant. I was specifically looking for sports bras, which they didn't have. But, they had all kinds of sizes with smaller cup sizes. Where ever you go, make sure it is specifically someplace that specializes in larger women or bras in general so you can get fitted properly.

I love Victoria Secret. I have the opposite issue of you. I'm a tiny gal with bigger boobs. Turned out I'm a whole cup size bigger than I thought I was. BUT I need a 32 around and there is no place where I live that has 32C (I was wearing a B till they measured me). I love the bras. And I looked up the sizes online. I don't see why a bigger around/smaller topped gal couldn't find something.

Elena, I'm so glad you posted this. I had a breast reduction 5 years ago & I'm about 100 pounds overweight. I've always found it hard to find bras because I can't get a good cup size to match the bra size. Even after all these years I still headlight, so I can't have thin cups, must have a little padding. I was able to find one in Walmart (the brand Queen Latifah advertised for) that does the job & now I don't see any more of them. I'm down to washing one every day! Eventually it's going to bite the dust! Most of the stores listed are not in my area (I'm in the SE). I'm afraid to order. Haven't had much success w/ that. I hope this has been helpful for you & you'll find bras very soon that will work. k

ORIGINAL: daughter_of_faith Just My Size has women's bras in these sizes. I find this brand at Wal-Mart all the time, but if you cannot find your specific size there they do have a website. Just google Just My Size Good luck!!! Oops! Didn't see this reply earlier. Thanks for the idea, DOF. My dilemma might be resulting from issues of how much volume and variety of brands that each store location carries. I've noticed that about Walmart and Target stores in other types of products too. I need to start taking notes of which locations in my area tend to have the items I'm looking for. quote:

Blessedly, we have a Macy's (at least one), and it's in a safe location, so that's an option. (I bought a lingerie shower gift there last week and noticed that they have quite a selection.) But Nashvegas (and I don't think the Southeast) does not boast of either a Nordstrom's or a Bloomingdale's. Sadness! quote:

I get so intimidated and embarrassed! I actually have several bras, so it's not as if I'm going without. But as I replace them, I'll keep in mind the tips from this thread. Thanks!!

VS website is temporarily unavailable. I wanted to look to see what they had as I hadn't ever noticed my size in their stores. No problem, Elena. I hope that helps. Every store does seem to be different. We can find things at this Wal-Mart that we couldn't find at the last one, but the same could be said about the other Wal-Mart...

For years I wore 36c then 38 c, as my weight increased, and with the latter the back strap kept creeping. I heard about the cut down the band and up the cup. I am much better fit in a 36 D, And I never dreamed i was a D. The girls are happy, too. :) Bend over some when first putting it on, to let the "cuddle" fall forward too--make sure you push 'em centrally to fill the cup. If you have "double bubble" afterward, the cup is too small. Try buying a cheaper bra with a smaller band and a bigger cup for a try--they're often returnable with receipt--just don't cut off the tags.

I would recommend ebay. You can search by band and cup size. Just looking around can give you and idea of what brands carry your size. Then you can search which stores have them and try them on if you want. Or just buy them if you're confident in your size. I bought some 38As on there the other day. I've tried the smaller band bigger cup thing but it doesn't work for me. I wouldn't recommend it unless you actually try the size out first and it works for you.
