I listen to Glenn daily on his radio show. He's about the only one I trust today.. as far as the news.. and whats really happening.. Yeah I believe he's a mormon.. The book has a message that we all need to hear Dont take for granted whats in front of you today

I agree that secular books and such can lead one to Christ, in an off-handed way. But don't leave out people who claim other religions. They can also lead to Jesus. I was brought out of a particular nasty pattern of sin with the help of a good little Jewish girl -- Dr. Laura. And I didn't turn Jewish.
As for Beck being pro-Bush. He is not. I've heard many criticisms of the President come out of Glenn's mouth. As for Beck being obnoxious, well that's a matter of opinion. I consider him outspoken, kinetic and humble.

I agree, he seems to be talking more about Jesus and less about his religion. Me thinks the Hound of Heaven is bitting at his heels.

If any of you decide to read the book. read his comments in the back of the book. I believe he knows the truth.. and this shouldn't turn into a political thing about this book.. geez!!! I get so sick of that ****.. I didn't start this thread to talk about politics... It's about a book with a awesome message.. and not one mans beliefs.. Glenn is not pro Bush at all.. very far from it.. He's pro American... What we all need to be

Point taken, chrisb. I probably will not buy this book, just cause I'm too cheap to buy books when I know they can be borrowed from a library for free. I'll likely check it out when I can.
The last book I actually bought was a biography on Sister Theresa, because I find her life fascinating. What a humble, Spirit-filled woman.

Maybe I have misspoke. I don't know. I watched his show because I heard he was going to have LaHaye and Jenkins and he seemed to agree with them but then he claims to be a mormon, and that is NOT the same as Christianity. Mormonism has similar appearance to Christianity, BUT then there is that BUT.....
After watching his show a few weeks I decided he was just too abrasive a personality for me.

yeah I tend to do more reading of these posts than starting a thread on a subject.. It tends to go in many different directions with 200 different opinions, and nothing is really said.

I guess I enjoyed the read but I'm not sure not that I'm done. This book left me feeling uneasy. I mean there was lots of nice and truthful counsel from Eddie's grandfather and Russell but I guess I want more than nice thoughts about how to deal with life---or rather what a relationship with Jesus is really all about.
Anyway, I guess I'm disappointed now that I've completed the book.

Thanks but, no, I'm not struggling. I love Jesus and know His love for me. What I was addressing was that the book sets the stage for being something more than it is---and that was disappointing to me. Anyway, thanks for your thoughtful concern.  LL

The book was telling Glenn's story. That was his storm.. It wasn't by no means some big Christian classic, nor was it meant to be. just telling his story. What I believe can be taken away from the book, and from what I've read time and time again is this.. Dont take the people in our lives for granted. I got caught up in the story.. It shocked me when his mom got killed, then to find out it was a dream.. wow.. he got to start over in a sense... how many would love to have that occasion?

Perhaps I was expecting too much. I guess I was hoping for more, more truth learned and lived. And perhaps that is judgmental of me. For that I am sorry. I just was looking for and wanting more. He is who he is and his story is his and is beautiful in its own right. Forgive me. Liveloved
