Ooh I get the first request:

DD1 is going to Hershey Park today with theother 5th and 6th graders who finished a book. Since we are all still tired from our vacation pray that she has the energy to make it through the day, stays safe, and doesn't lose anything

I found out I qualify to apply for a one time scholarship from HSLDA from their Children of Single Parents fund. Please pray I can get it all in quickly and get approved for some help. I contacted them and was thinking they just offered help in paying for your membership. When I was told the actual possible amounts I was thrilled.

Dad is hanging in there. There are 3 scenarios, from what he said and my brother confirmed.
1) The meds will strengthen his heart, he'll have the surgery, will live for lots longer.
2) The meds will strengthen his heart, they'll take him into surgery, he'll die on the table.
3) The meds won't strengthen his heart and he'll die within about a month.

I would rather the first option be it, but, my best desire is that he would come to Christ. The rest is just ... well ... frosting on the cake. I don't want to say good-bye to my dad for all of eternity, but unless his heart softens toward the truth in scripture...

We have our first real couple's home group meeting tomorrow. It's every other Tuesday, and the last meeting was just getting our books, an ice breaker, and sharing some about ourselves and our marriages.

Brian and I have been struggling lately. We've both got a lot on our plate and have had trouble communicating. Please pray that whatever God wants to do in us individually and us together will be done...that we will both be willing and open to His working.

We did finish our homework, which is good, and we didn't even have to fight about it first, which is even better. We actually both closed the book smiling because we *want* the same things for our marriage and our family, even if we're not sure how to get there right now.

Anyway, just pray that we can grow together. I think we both know there are things that need dealing with and I hope this group will be a catalyst to that happening. At the very least, it will be a mini-date every other week. Tomorrow, my sister is watching Hannah and Noah and we'll be stopping and having something to eat before we go.

Not sure if I posted it earlier but my mom has breast cancer. She was diagnosed, then had to put everything on hold while they came back east for my uncle's (dad's brother) funeral. She had tests run last week, and is scheduled for surgery tomorrow. The doctor called this morning. Looking at the test results the doctor doesn't think she can get all the cancer. Mom asked me to be praying.

But... I know I'm probably going to be TOSed for this, but honestly I don't believe that God can/will do anything. I'm just not seeing a whole lot to give me reason to believe.

Pray for DH as he is wondering if he should quit the church (he is a pastor). Between our last church and this church he feels pretty "beat up" by people's comments and has lost his self confidence. He has a job interview this afternoon, he is considering quiting the church and living off of this job which only pays 8 something an hour... which means I would have to work too. I am trying to find a few people from past churches to encourage him about his sermons, that his preaching is okay and I have been trying to tell him that the couple that made comments about his sermons are from very unpleasable people to begin with. God has been taking care of us financially more than ever before, even when we thought things would be extremely difficult here. I would just hate for him to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. Especially with Noah, I think it would really be hard for me to work at this point. WE are not at this church for the money... but it is our "job" and like any other job, we start to depend on that income and if he quits the church it would change our life pretty drastic. It is tempting to want to quit since I have seen my DH self esteem go down, but at the same time, there seems to be indication that God is taking care of us at this church and that we should hang in there.

I can't find DD1's math book for next year. I am working on writing up my plans for next year for the school district and I know I bought books through 6th grade but can't find the math book for next year. I realize I can still list it (I bought all from the same publisher so I know that much info) and get another one if I have to but I don't want to have to spend the money on it if I don't have to. I'll probably find it when I am not looking for it.

I feel all worn out today. I think that it is because of the appointment that we have with our lawyer today. I am doing much better in general, but it is tiring me out. The idea of the hearing is really getting me. Sitting while these "respected" people list their fictional stories about us.

I am so glad that when the final prosecuting attorny comes to spill out all our wrong doings that are TRUE, that we will already know the outcome because we will have the best Deffense Attorney and a just and merciful Judge.

Well, thank you all for your prayers regarding our lawyer's appt. today. The lawyer still has not received the information requested from the county (policies, procedures, etc.) and the judge is not responding to them. He will be sending a demand letter now for the relevant information. In the meantime, we'll be getting him a list of people that can testify on our behalf, and we'll be preparing in what ways we can for the hearing. He has also requested photos from us to help show the atmosphere of our home.

Please pray that the hearing does not get delayed any further.

Just got off the phone with my parents. My Uncle died last night. This is my mom's brother & she lost her sister in January & my dad lost his brother in March. Not sure what the arrangements will be & if I'll be able to make it back for the funeral, but hoping I can. My mom was very emotional on the phone. This is the brother who was closest in age to her & her twin brother, so they spent a lot of time together as kids. They have a family reunion tomorrow & don't want to cancel it, but I imagine it will be hard on everyone. Prayers are appreciated.

ust a reminder that the hearing for my child and spousal support is this Monday, June 25, at 1PM ET. I will be meeting my lawyer at his office at his office at 12:30 to go over things before walking the couple blocks to the courthouse for the hearing. Because I have a protection order he faxed a request that we have 2 separate rooms to be in and the he and the representative from the Domestic Relations Office will go back and forth.

Please pray that

1. we get the maximum allowed by law
2. that they include some extra for homeschooling expenses even though I don't have receipts to prove how much I spent last year: I do have a breakdown of how much I typically spend
3. that it goes through without any hassle or argument.
4. The money will be garnished from his wages. His next payday is next Friday. Pray that it can get processed quickly enough that it comes out of his next check: it takes another couple weeks before I get any of it.
5. that I find a way to pay my rent until I start getting money from him.
6. my lawyer is going to mention to him that if he wants the kids to continue in sports: particularly their bowling league that they did last year and soccer, basketball, and t-ball (they each played one of those) that he is going to have to pitch in some extra for that. Since I know it is important to him that they continue in sports if they want I think he will. These sports costs are included in my breakdown of HSing costs so if they give me an extra $25 a week for that it will cover it. If they don't allow it then he will have to pay for these sports.
7. if I don't get enough to live on (I probably won't) that I can quickly find a job that will provide enough, will allow me to continue HSing the kids, and will work around hours when mom can watch the kids or I can bring the kids so I don't have to pay a sitter.

I am either having some wacky postpartum my body is not normal thing, or having signs of the stupid endometriosis and cysts coming back already. Just the thought of that is making me grumpy, frustrated, and downright miserable.

Please pray that it is NOT the worst case scenario. Pray that if that is the case, that I am HEALED. Pray that if I am not healed, God gives me the grace to deal with it.

My pastor and I finally set a time to meet this week. I think I told you ladies that he suggested last week we get together this week. After I drop the kids off at VBS at 9 on Thursday I will head up to the church. Pray that I can get across to him what I need to and with the right attitude. I fear that if I am having a good day that I will com across as doing OK. If I'm having a bad day I may come across as too harsh or accusatory. ALthough, if I do that I'm sure he will understand but I still hate to be that way...especially because when I'm having a bad day some of my frustration is geared towards him (and just about everyone else in the world).

we are trying to get our boys into a 2 week day camp this summer. It is a really cool one. The problem is that we only found out about it a couple of weeks ago. The problem is that we don't have the money to send them. We are trying to get the kids in on scholarship, but time is running out to sign them up. Please pray that they can go... it would be a great opportunity.

Praise Report ~ Husband found a new job already, we are grateful because work can be difficult to find in this town... every town is in the "boonies" when you live in Wyoming, you either find a job in the home town or you end up driving to tim-buck-to.

The job does have a few disadvantages. DH will be working from midnight to 9am (this will work out good in some ways), plus it doesn't pay hardly anything. We will need to adjust to a MAJOR pay decreas, but we should be okay. I should be able to stay home.

I got this email this morning. These are personal friends.

Tuesday evening (6/26), there was a tragic vehicle accident involving Rev. Lyndon Mason, the pastor of St. Michael’s UMC in Lake Havasu City, AZ and his family. As they were traveling south of Flagstaff on vacation, they collided with another vehicle that was driving in the wrong direction. Eva, his wife was killed. Lyndon and their youngest son are in critical condition (as of midnight) in a Phoenix hospital. Their daughter has a broken pelvis and is another Phoenix hospital. Their oldest son, who is 18 or 19, stayed home in Lake Havasu City to work.

Please continue to lift their family, the congregation of St. Michael’s and all those who know and love them bound in prayer during this time of loss and tremendous grief.

I just got this email.

With the clarity of the morning dawn, we also have more facts: Lyndon and his youngest son, Nathan are NOT in critical condition. Lyndon received some minor cuts and bruises and may be released today. His youngest son, Nathan is fine physically. Their daughter, Lelah has a broken elbow and was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas. The oldest son, Lyn is with her. Bishop Minerva Carcano has been with Lyndon through the night in Phoenix.

Please continue to pray for the Mason family as they grieve the loss of Eva – wife, mother, daughter, sister and beloved friend.

In about an hour I'll be meeting with my pastor to update him on how I'm doing and discuss what I need. Pray that goes well.

Update on my prayer request. Unless something major happens, I will probably not post pertinent info in this thread again.

The latest I know is that Lyndon and Nathan arrived in Las Vegas last night. "A mutual friend" saw him by the grace of God in Kingman yesterday. She prayed with him and told him many people want to help them. Lyndon is still in shock and when asked “What can we do for you?” He said, “Just pray for us. This is an awful big hole that is missing in our lives and it’s going to take time to heal.”

I would invite prayers for the lady’s family who ran into the Mason’s vehicle. She was 77, from CA and died in the accident.
