I put that they will do in a pinch. I really don't care for them too much. However, I have a friend who couldn't get anything to grow in her front yard. She put fake flowers out there and it looked nice until they started fading and the heat did funny things to them. It was kind of cool to see in the winter time. She would have colorful tulips (which look fake anyway) sticking up out of the snow.

Depends on situation and quality.

Prefer real, but they'll do. We can't have much anything real in our house as one of our cats will eat it. So, we have to settle for nice fake ones if we want any greenery.

I am allergic to real flowers and they can get expensive.

But the cat tore up the fake plants too. So I put depends.

I think it depends...however, plastic is fine unless you're planting them outside as though they were real.

I draw the line there.

I think it depends on where and when you use them. I made a winter planter for my porch with pine bows and fake poinsettias flowers. It looked nice, but now I need to take out. I've seen some fake flowers used around here that actually looked nice for awhile. I'd never use them expect where appropriate.

Addresses and phone numbers: all on my Palm. Very well organized. If I could find a phone that had space for addresses as well as phone numbers, I'd be all set (don't have a phone yet).

I prefer real, but we don't have real plants/flowers in the house due to DH's allergies. And then, only if they're great quality, and only because they're better than never having flowers. I only have a couple of small arrangements at the moment, and you'd have to get within two inches of the thing and/or touch it to figure out they're fake (they're more like sculpted plastic than silk). You can even get fake water, although I'm skipping it for now since I'm not sure it's safe around kids.

Of course, since DH is also allergic to dust, we'll see how easy these are to clean before I get any more.

I don't really like fake plants, but there are some really nice ones.

We don't have many plants because we don't like to take care of them. I think 4 plants.

Like I posted in the other thread, I like them at church or in businesses, but not at home.

I don't care for plastic plants or flowers, but I love silk ones (and real ones, of course!)

Never been a big fan, but some of them can look nice. I am considering buying a fake plant for the corner in my living room, where it is too dark for a real one. I'm in the process of killing my second plant in that corner

Mine has a space with each person for Notes, so I put addresses in that space.

I voted no opinion. This is honestly something I'm rather ambivalent about either way.

Real flowers are my preference but I do have silk flowers in my house cause the budget does not allow for real ones all the time. I do not like plastic flowers or plants at all.

I voted other.

(and not intentionally just to be voting "other", but because I try to not use the word "hate" in describing how I feel about something . . . and off-topic for a moment, I never ever use that word in regards to people).

I absolutely do not like plastic flowers and plants.

However, some silk ones are ok. Some of them are; not all of them.

My strong preference are real plants and flowers.

I don't like being sick. There's not an awful lot I can do to care for somebody who is sick, due to the disability that I have. But I do try as much as I can.

I'll pick caring for a sickie; maybe I don't know what I'm picking since I've never had to care for a vomiting or feverish child. Or, come to think of it, for anybody with a serious illness.

After one of the kids from my cabin had a really severe accident with a knee-board at camp (not on my "watch" but they called me in right away) I discovered that I handle real emergencies surprisingly well. I calmed her down, consoled her, reassured her that her foster mother wouldn't be angry about how much the ambulance cost ; reassured her foster sister who was freaking out and ticked off not to get to go to the hospital with her, and then fell apart and had a good cry later that afternoon, when nobody needed me.

Since I am good under pressure in emergencies, DH and I have already agreed that we come across one of our kids with a deep cut spurting blood, I will be doing first aid and he will be responsible for fainting. So I think it's a fair guess that I'd far prefer to help someone else than to be sick myself.

I prefer to care for someone else. I'm a very cranky sick person since I don't get sick much at all. I'm also pretty calm in emergencies and stressful situations.

I handle sickness pretty well, except nausea and dizziness. I do get cranky if I'm not able to eat though.

It depends on WHO is sick that I'd have to care for. Some people (esp men) can't handle a cold and you'd think they are going to die.

Preach it, sister.

I voted that I would rather care for someone else that's sick. I hate not being able to "do" for myself and having to ask for help (it doesn't bother me to ask someone to bring me something as a favor, I just hate it when I HAVE to ask for help LOL) and usually don't mind taking care of others. It gets rather overwhelming when there's more than one sick at the same time though.

I'm very good in emergencies also, as is my oldest son. He's great to have around if someone gets hurt. My daughter on the other hand, flees at the sight of blood so she's not much help then.

Yeah, I think I'd sooner be sick than have a feverish 3-month-old.

I must be very lucky; DH is never a baby when he's sick. If anything, he apologizes about being "demanding" when he really isn't.
