Recently we had a vocal group of people request that we add the term "tea-bagger" to the Terms of Service. Tea-bagger is indeed an inflammatory word but we have historically allowed certain inflammatory words as long as they were used in a general manner and not specifically at an individual in the community.
In our review it was discovered that these same individuals resorted to using inflammatory language of their own to color and characterize the opposition in general.
This is our decision. We will allow the community to decide whether or not to disallow ALL inflammatory language.
What does that mean?
That means individuals who resort to using inflammatory language like tea-bagger, Obamessiah, TheOne, The Messiah (in reference to the president), President Barky, Prince Harry, and Princess Nancy, His Majesty, right-wing nut-job, etc... will be in violation of the Terms of Service. It's all done to inflame and incite. It is done to discredit and disrespect.
So let the community decide. Have you had enough of the name calling and disrespectful language? Are you read to make our Current Events folder no longer conform to the standards the rest of the society has set?
You decide. The choices are simple.
1. "Outlaw" inflammatory language
2. Don't change anything
3. Undecided
