I would agree with that. While I disagreed with a lot of the theology behind it, I don't suggest giving up in the middle, at least find out where the author was going with it. And there were a few points throughout that really made me think.

If a book makes you think it is a good book whether you agree with it or not or even if it is well written or not.

I'm reading Home by Marilynne Robinson and, oh, it is lovely. Even more wonderful than Gilead which I also loved.

Just about to start on The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.

BTW, I didn't enjoy Still Waters. It was a little too 'yucky feeling in the pit of your stomach' for my liking.

Based on what you've stated, I understand.

I am currently reading Deadly Aim by Patricia Rushford. It's the first book in the Angela Delaney Series. I read the third book of the series earlier this year without knowing beforehand that it was part of a series.

I just finished " Spiritual Leadership " by Oswald Sanders. I highly recommend it for anyone serving or leading in all types of ministry.

I am about to start " On being a servant of God " by Warren Wiersbe. Has anyone read it?

The Real Middle Earth: Magic and Mystery in the Dark Ages Brian Bates.

I'll finish it tonight, and then start it again, taking notes this time. It is absolutely fascinating, and contains an incredible wealth of fantasy story ideas.

Would it be a good book for my 18 and 20 year old daughters to read?

Yeah, if they are up for some laughs!

You might look into also having them read "The Naked Truth about Love, Sex, and Dating" by Jason Illian, an Excellent book in my opinion! "I Kissed Dating Good-Bye" and "Boy Meets Girl" by Joshua Harris are also good. I also love "Wait For Me" by Rebecca St. James! There are so many good books out there and I own almost all of them on this subject...LOL!

I read a few books at a time. Right now I'm reading "Vintage Jesus" and "Why Not Women?" I think I'm going to start "Battlefield of the Mind" soon.

Vintage Jesus is a GREAT book! I have an odd sense of humour tho, I'm sure its not for everyone.

Mark Driscoll?

I just read "Death by Love" - not much humor in that one.
