ORIGINAL: HisCovenant I wish I could just once see a recommendation by the FDA that didn't make me think less of them. Anyway, maybe that was that one thing you wanted to hear about the FDA. Soli Deo Gloria, Jessica You so made me laugh at myself!! We all know I dodn't really want to just see one thing. Ok, I didn't know. But I do believe the FDA is making progress, of course slow progress. Approving of their first botanical drug in almost 50 years proves that. But when my husband and I were talking in the car on our way to Whole Foods last night, we were thinking that maybe in the next few years any foods that have been tampered with (refined, filtered) in any way might become illegal. That might include high fructose corn syrup. I don't believe that's a long stretch. Think about it, in the last 2 years science has discovered that trans fats were bad for you (hydrogenated oils, margarine). Now, in the next month, all fast food restaurants are ordered by law to take out all sources of trans fats. Hey, that's pretty good! I don't believe we are far off from making any artificial ingredients illegal. Soli Deo Gloria, Jessica

Thanks for pointing out the progress. It's encouraging to see it all written out. Personally, I think it's a long stretch to see a lot of junk foods (including artificial ingredients) banned because Americans are too greedy/gluttonous to stand for it (as a culture.) But I do hope you are right and that I am wrong. I would really like to see the FDA make big strides towards American health. Well, whether or not you were pointing out how funny I was about wanting to see one good thing... I still have had a good laugh at myself... in fact, I'm smiling about it right now.
