Guess everyone was in line waiting to vote. Now that the markets will go nuts again, I've got a lot of work to do today. Check in with ya'll later after I've lost a few thousand $$$, to gain it again, to lose it again. Gotta love the stock markets.

You know the only Mopar I've ever owned was a motorhome on a 1978 Dodge Sportsman chasis with a 400 cid. Replaced the 2bbl with a 4 and added headers. It got an average of about 7.5 mpg.

7.5 Meters per Gallon... yep, that's about right for a good ole' Mopar.

Well, a bit depressed and discouraged today. That will likely go away and then turn to anger. But good to see you back.

Thanks denbert, sorry you are depressed and discouraged. Turn a little bit of Christian tunes on, that usually gets me in a bit of a better mood. God is with you and will see you through your troubles. Hope and pray all goes well for you!

I'm with ya'. Working my tail off and am making a lot of money, but it's all because of political screw ups and selling off public trust.

ray of son-a kind answer turns away wrath--thanks. denbert --you must be drivin' a rice burner orrrr Fix or repair daily (Ford). Don't you know "Consumer reports", "Motor Trend" etc., are funded by the foreigners--so u ain't gonna giv a proper assessment. I had an '88 Caravan for 10 yeers--never had to put $500 repair on it-- a '70 Dart 340 for 17 years--rare repairs--ate about everything--even gas!! gone again

Those magazines all have ownership and circulation data in the fine print either near the front or the back of each issue (if I remember right).

A couple things that I would give Dodge credit for are the mini-van and their styling. Not that the mini-van has great style. But they do seem to be the measuring rod for every other manufacturer of mini-vans, and they were the originator of the concept.

Often I have marveled at the styling of many of the Mopar products, and the '70 Dart is no exception. It's just a beautiful piece of machinery.

I saw the 'smart' car today, a black convertible version. It looked like something that could drive out of a refrigerator box... a VW Beetle that someone had stylishly cut the tail end off of. I don't think I'd fit in one. One thing's certain, there's not a lot of air in there to heat or cool off.

that it had a Ret. Armed Forces Army tag on it was interesting... maybe a former tank driver who likes the closed-in feeling of it? Or else he's saving up for his own health care needs in the future. Anyone know if there's air bags in those? I'd think that could kill someone in that small a space, or with a passenger bag maybe shove the passengers together Hard?

It looked a bit creepy to me.

(the fire's going... but the coffee ain't)

Hey! Who put goldfish in the pot! Someone came back from the fair and forgot to take them home... well, those fish will be wired for awhile. We don't need live pets in here... who'd take care of feeding them? Pours fish in old coffee can that's rinsed out.

[Scrub, scrub! Rinse, rinse, grounds, close it up, *smack*, sniff sniff, aahhhh!, fills mug, plops down in fave old recliner, swings feet up toward old coal stove. Reads todays Sports section, notes AL Crimson Tide #1]

Rooooooooollllll Tide! Roll!

[That should get the neighbors dogs going.]

Especially if they're bulldogs.

Nothin' like the smell of fresh coffee.

You know I feel so out of it when they start asking dating questions because I've been married for almost 30 years. Wouldn't trade it for the world though. And when people start asking questions about dating, it brings home the fact that I'm glad to be married. The thought of ever dating again is not something that I'd enjoy at all.

Bama's dun good. Maybe the Dawgs won't beat themselves with penalties this weekend, and keep the "War Tigeles" from making the ranking board. Then I can rub my BILs nose in it.

That's a good thing, Ray, in your case, that notion about dating. Remind this single guy and the others out there how things came to be going on almost 30 now. Was your dating career thrown for a loop or two on meeting the gracious woman that leaves this whole garage to you mostly? Where you knew you didn't want dating to ruin a hopeful long term future? Or was there some trying times and the two of you wroked through them and here you are? I think for me, dating after dating after dating has stolen a lot of joy from dating... even more that would be having been married.

Yep, if that's not being overly-guestlike on my part, I'd appreciate the shortened story of it.

Thanks!

When we first met and started dating, I was in high school and she was in college...'an older woman', as my friends would rib me about incessantly. She's about 2 1/2 years older than me.

We met on the CB radio.

I still remember the exact place that we met. She drove up in her parents' car (White 1976 Chevy Impala) and parked next to us. She was beautiful and the moonlight danced across her long blond hair. She looked over at me and smiled.

She had a friend and my friend asked if I'd double-date so that he could date one of them. I said "OK, but I get the blond one."

He dated the red-head, but it didn't last very long.

So we dated, but not seriously at first. As soon as I felt it might be going somewhere, I stopped dating other girls. Things moved along quickly and we became engaged about Christmas of my senior year of high school. I was seventeen. Spent my entire life savings on a ring. We had known each other for about 18 months and had been 'going steady' for about nine months.

We got married in July after high school graduation. I was eighteen. She was 20. Then I went to navy boot camp in September.

So you see, my dating experience was fairly short-lived. While I have a few ex-girlfriends that I remember fondly from my younger days, I did not relish the anxiety of dating. Thank God that He brought me the love of my life at an early age.

Yeah really... Ogres are like dogs, cute when little... but then they grow up.

Met my wife in College. We dated 4 years, waiting until out of school and had jobs.

She was 18, I was 20. That was 46 years ago.
