Hi again Jrila I’m from the Uk, a sort of tiny, rainy America LOL. There’s plenty of pointers that I’ve read that indicate to me that Obama doesn’t seem to have a great deal of respect for Christ, or faith in His words. I know myself, being saved by my Lord, that I could not bring myself to openly mock the inspired words of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, or even a single word of my Lord. Obama mocks the Bible ‘Call To Renewal’ - June 28th 2006 Barack Obama "Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is ok and that eating shellfish is abomination? How about Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith? Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount - a passage that is so radical that it’s doubtful that our own Defence Department would survive its application? So before we get carried away, let’s read our bibles. Folks haven’t been reading their bibles.” If that doesn’t show a lack of faith or respect for the word of God, then I don’t know what does. If you are talking about Obama’s morals when you refer to him being more Godly than many you’ve heard for a long time. Yes, I agree with some of the changes he proposes. I’ve got to say, morals are important, very! However, we don’t know how much of that is genuine or just political gain speech. Also, as important as morals are, it’s not proof alone of faith in Christ. Muslims have morals, atheists have morals, Buddhists have morals, even modern paganism has morals but they don’t have faith in Christ or God’s word! Anyway, it’s between Obama and God, but all I’m saying, is it rings all my alarm bells. Cheers mate and bless ya. Sonic

And, from what I can discern, Obama is not representative of the Truth. Jrila1981, I'm very curious about a statement you made. You said, "...according to the bible obama is not our man." Would you please be so kind as to expound on that? Would you give the Biblical references to which you're referring when you make that statement? Thanks, in advance.

Ok, hold one for one second, bob, I have to wrap . . . this duct tape . . . around my head so it doesn't . . . . explode. there. I think two rolls will do it. Takes a deep breath. WHAT??? YOU HAVE GO TO BE KIDDING ME!! And it's ok to have a movie out that shows Bush being assassinated and THAT'S OK???? Sigh . . I know the guy's a cop and all, but please!!! I'm sure if he posted that Bush had lied about Iraq and should be shot, that would ok. And this is interesting: "It wasn't a racial slur, but we're still investigating it." sigh. . . Don't say anything about Obama, the feds are watching us. But please, talk about what an idiot Bush is and what a horrible job he did. Also be sure to add in that he brought down the twin towers. That's ok also. sigh . . . quote:

Dancre...there might be a pattern here. It seems that everyone who would say something negative regarding the establishment is subject to some kind of punishment. It was Joe the Plumber...now the cops. We should watch very close for crowd control by government...say something wrong and wham. Bob

When I hear Christian's that were bought with the blood of Jesus and given the most beautiful gift that no money or any riches could ever buy, are willing to ignore Obama's clearly mocking tones of their saviour, and fight in the corner of, stand up for, give their worship and support to a man that has done this to their Lord. Ignoring this and selling Him short. Why? Is it because their hope for the future is not based on standing on God's truth, or is it because they just don't believe that it matters if they side with men over their Saviour? I don't know, but it upsets and frustrates me soooo much.

Hi Sonic,, Is there any more to this speak that he gave,, for the context in which these words by Obama seem to be rather a grey area. I gotta ask thou,, Would the defense dept survive it's application??? What point do you think Obama was trying to make if by chance he wasn't mocking the words of Jesus? quote:

Yes, I have noticed it. They seem dark, angry, and somewhat evil, when he is talking. I am glad someone else noticed it, everyone acts like I am crazy when I say this. quote:

Lots of people say that The Beast will come out of the middle east, many say Europe ( Rome). Where is Kenya? No joke I am asking, because I have the stomach flu, and my head feels dizzy, so forgive my ignorance. I am not running for office anyway, so it is ok if you call me stupid. Here is all this discussion about where Obama was born, and his birth certificate. We know that the beast will try in someways to imitate the Lord Jesus. Remember when the pharisees, ask "Can anything good come form Nazereth?"(sp) " Besides does not scripture say he will be born in Bethlehem?"(sp) ( sorry I feel nasueous again, so forgive spelling) There is another thing, when the towers fell, and the aftermath of what was left, the ruins looked like ta Roman Collosim (sp). Everyone wants Obama to be world president. His lips, being (black) nothing to do with African American, more maybe a sign of evil speaking, and they look middle eastren. So I am sick, and probaly not expressing myself in the way, I usually could, I was thinking with the towers looking like something out of the Roman empire, and Obama could have came out of the Middle East. Could all of these things ( if you can understand me LOL, be a mixture of it all. The towerS were also very close to a community called babaloyn (sp again). All please be nice to me today can rake me over the coals tommorow, when hopefully I feel better. Can anyone see what I am saying or not?

Shabbat shalom again, SonicStudent and Dancre. In all seriousness, "Christianity" has been sliding downhill for a long time. I can remember back in the '70s preachers warning that the "Church" was only about 20 years behind society on their downhill slide. It should not really surprise us, though, because we who name the "name of Christ" (even though it's really a title and even though it should be "Messiah" more than "Christ," following the Hebrew/Aramaic languages rather than the Greek) had abandoned the truth of God's Word WAY back in the 300s and possibly some earlier than that! (Indeed, there is evidence that some of the early church "fathers" were straying from the simple truths of God's Word in the 100s AD!) When one has forgotten--and even ABANDONED--their Jewish roots, there are no more moorings! How does one anchor himself or herself to a wave of the sea? Yeshua` (Jesus) IS a Jew! His students--His disciples--were Jews! (And, when they return with Him, they will still be Jews!) His ancestors about whom we have so many stories of faith were Jews (with a few exceptions like those pre-Y'hudah and proselytes like Ruwt [Ruth] and Rachav [Rahab]). Even the Goyi (Gentile; non-Jewish) "churches" to whom Paul would write had large populations of Jews within them because Paul would begin his ministry to their community in the Jewish synagogues first and because it was their own God and His Messiah that Paul would preach! Yet, somehow, MANY, MANY Christians have conveniently forgotten that we were first and foremost a JEWISH sect! So, when so many put so little emphasis on the importance of the Jewish ancestry of our faith, is it any wonder that so many have created a "God" in their own image? A "God" who wouldn't mind them taking liberties with His Message, His Bible? A "God" whom they could belittle (blaspheme) without ramifications and consequences? After all, He's such a "loving God" that He won't really mind. Where is the fear of the ancestors who thought they should not even SPEAK God's name for fear that they might "take His name in vain?" Where is the reverence of the scribes who would stop writing when they came to God's name, bathe, put on clean clothes, get a new pen, take fresh ink, and THEN proceed to write the Name? No, these Christians who support Obama over Yeshua` are merely showing how big their image of "God" is. They have a little god; so, they have little respect for him. And, THAT'S the truth! Retrobyter

To say that you could not survive its application is to suggest that Christ was mistaken which ever way you shake it. It's a mocking of Christ's suggestion that this is how people, leaders, kings and whoever should be trying to steer towards and base their lives and policies on. Was he saying that Christ was mistaken? Or that He was being unrealistic? Youtube it for your self, a lot of Christians were very upset. To try to justify Obama's words that were criticizing Christ's instructions to the world, and on a public stage is to deliberatly select deafness and making a choice. Well, where do our layalties rest? For me, Obama clearly, by words and tone of speech was indeed mocking. He certainly was making a speech saying, 'this is what Christ said, and this is the way we should be trying to head'! Quite the opposite! I know for me, I hear what I hear, and i'm never going to turn a deaf ear to suit.

The Times Newspaper – online - November 6, 2008 Barack Obama asked gay bishop, what is it like to be 'first' 'Gay' bishop in private meetings with Obama Barack Obama sought out controversial gay bishop Gene Robinson not just once but three times during his campaign to become President of the United States, The Times can reveal. Bishop Robinson, the 80-million strong Anglican Communion’s only openly gay bishop whose consecration in 2003 has left the Anglican Communion on the brink of schism, was sought out by Mr Obama to discuss what it feels like to be “first”. Bishop Robinson described his conversations with him as part of Mr Obama’s “extraordinary” outreach to all religious communities, not just Christian groups. Bishop Robinson, in London as a guest of the gay rights group Stonewall for its annual “Hero of the Year” awards dinner at the Victoria and Albert Museum tonight, said that Mr Obama’s campaign team had sought him last year and he had the “honour” of three private conversations with the future president of the United States last May and June. He said that Mr Obama had indicated his support for equal civil rights for gay and lesbian people and described the election as a “religious experience”. Bishop Robinson said: “He and I would agree about the rightful place of religion vis-a-vis the secular state. That is to say, we don’t impose our religious values on the secular state because God said so. Our faith informs our own values and then we take those values into the civil market place, the civil discourse, and then you argue for them based on the Constitution. You don’t say to someone, you must believe this because this is what God believes. “I think God gives us our values and then we argue for those on the basis of the Constitution and care of our neighbour. And I think the Bush administration got very very close to the line if not going over the line in terms of offering support to religious-based groups who were using their social service arms to proselytise and evangelise which I would say is inappropriate.” http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article5100064.ece?token=null&offset=0&page=1

Looks around for the Obama Police. . . . I know, buddy, same here. But remember, they made the choice, they have to live with it. It's God's problem, not ours. What's worse is the way those same Christians see Obama as the great and mighty one. Sad. quote:

When I hear Christian's that were bought with the blood of Jesus and given the most beautiful gift that no money or any riches could ever buy, are willing to ignore Obama's clearly mocking tones of their saviour, and fight in the corner of, stand up for, give their worship and support to a man that has done this to their Lord. Ignoring this and selling Him short. Why? Is it because their hope for the future is not based on standing on God's truth, or is it because they just don't believe that it matters if they side with men over their Saviour? I don't know, but it upsets and frustrates me soooo much.

Actually, Retro, you're not the first person whom I've heard say this very thing. I belong to my church's worship dance team and it grieves our hearts that the church abandoned worship dance in the middle ages. They tossed the Jewish ways away for a more 'cultured' way. POOO!!! Cultured my foot!!! Yes, Christianity has slide, but by God's grace, it's getting better and stronger, much to Satan's horror. LOL. God's faithful, before Jesus comes back, He'll make the church stronger and better. :) quote:
ORIGINAL: Retrobyter Shabbat shalom again, SonicStudent and Dancre. Retrobyter

Wow!! That's amazing. Just b/c God said to evangelise doesn't mean we should. Oh brother!!! Pack your bags, kids, Jesus' is a coming!!! quote:
Bishop Robinson said: “He and I would agree about the rightful place of religion vis-a-vis the secular state. That is to say, we don’t impose our religious values on the secular state because God said so. Our faith informs our own values and then we take those values into the civil market place, the civil discourse, and then you argue for them based on the Constitution. You don’t say to someone, you must believe this because this is what God believes. “I think God gives us our values and then we argue for those on the basis of the Constitution and care of our neighbour. And I think the Bush administration got very very close to the line if not going over the line in terms of offering support to religious-based groups who were using their social service arms to proselytise and evangelise which I would say is inappropriate.”
