Will be praying for you for sure. Having said that, I'll take peace with God and unemployed any day of the week vs. the opposite, and I'm sure you feel the same way.

Jchaz, I didn't see your request in time to pray before your meeting but I will be praying that you continue to feel God's peace and that you will also feel peace in the area of finances. A couple weeks ago, I was thinking about the economy and how tight funds are and it hit me that I really feel more secure working directly for God than I would if I worked for a boss who could lay me off on a whim, with no security of finding another job. God doesn't lay us off; He just occasionally changes our position. I'll pray that He shows you your new position soon.
I've hesitated to post prayer requests for myself because I know it's nothing compared to what y'all are going through but my arthritis seems to be acting up more these days, especially in my knees. Thankfully, it's still not constant and I still get around great but, sitting here right now, they really hurt. I'm also starting to feel it somewhat in my fingers when I write and things which, for me, would be hard. Although I realize this may be something I need to experience for a season, I am asking God for healing and, if God brings me to any of y'all's mind, I would appreciate your prayers too.
Thank you so much! And, please, everyone who is going through a difficult time right now, look up. God is still there and will gladly lift our burdens if we would but let go of them and give them to Him.

I'm so sorry about your job situation, Charlie. I'll keep praying. My biggest encouragement the first time I was laid off from a job was Romans 8:28.

I'm not an old man and hardly a middle aged man...but i have noticed that God ALWAYS takes care of his own. It is definitely true Charlie, that whenever you're going through a valley, that God is always there. Remember, that God clothes the lilies of the field...He has definitely noticed your situation and it will all work out for His glory. Keep on looking up! (He may come tonight...) :)

Thanks for the encouraging words. When I worked for Brenda Robinson of New Desire Ministries, she often told that when she was having seizures, one of the ways she dealt with the pain of them, was to spend much time pray for others in need, and that before too long, her own issues wouldn't seem as horrible. I've tried that, and it certainly works!!
Sony, I am praying specifically for you right this minute and will every hour to day. I never make a big deal about it, but I suffer from some arthrytic problems, too, so I know the agony that it can sometimes brings. Foster went through 'a season' of that, as you say a few years ago, so she knows all too well, and I'm sure she'll be praying for you, too. I cling to the scripture that says 'Where 2 or 3 agree..." So between you, me, Foster, God and a few of our other fellow posters, we should be seeing results very soon! Aren't we blessed to have this kind of fellowship??

Charlie, certainly praying for you and that God will show you the door that he has for you to go through. It's sad when the pastor doesn't follow what the Lord is doing and what the people in the church obviously want. The fact that they were moved by His spirit shows they want God to be there and minister to them. They aren't going to get that from this pastor it appears and that is sad for them as well as you.
Sony, chronic pain is something many people deal with but that makes it no less painful! Please always let us know when you are hurting so we can pray. That's why we come to this thread is to minister and be ministered to!

I ask for prayer...we were just notified by our Landlord that he is going to put our townhome on the market. At this time it doesn't affect our lease or housing situation but I'm praying for direction from the Lord about our next "move". I really don't want the aggrevation of "showing" the house.

I love spending time in prayer. In our office here at Volunteer Energy we pray in a conference room every Monday. And we bring requests and petitions and praises. When I see the requests on this site I add them to our list. Here is a request near to my heart. My Brother George, is a part time bus driver for Three Bridges. Our company provides some support for the Bridges. He had a melanoma taken off last week and goes in tomorrow to the surgeon to see how fast it needs to be treated. They could take him right to the hospital for surgery. The Doctor told him it is malignant and he will have to under go radiation and chemo. He said it depended how bad it was as to how much has to be dug out. He said it could potentially effect a quarter of his back. Please pray for his healing and emotional state at this time. Praying for all the request

I talked to Diane a little while ago. She said the family was doing well. Visitation last night was very well attended. Sam will be singing today and then her brother will speak and then another song for the service. And yes, 3 pm eastern time, 2 pm central time for the service. They appreciate all the prayers.

Amen! Thank you so much! That encouraged me tremendously, just reading your words and knowing someone's been uplifting me today.

Lynn, I actually thought of you when I posted. I'm sure yours is worse than mine but the way mine seems to be getting worse has me slightly concerned. At times, it feels somewhat like burning in my knees but I know God will either heal me or give me grace to endure. I'd just prefer the healing. 
Sam, I am continuing to pray for you, Diane, and the family.

Please remember David since his bypass surgery is scheduled for this morning (Thursday)
Soloist & Original Gospel Sounds Member David East In Intensive Care
11/11/2008 Nashville, TN---Soloist and one of the founding members of the Original Gospel Sounds, David East is currently in an Indiana hospital in intensive care.
David entered the hospital this morning for a routine cath procedure when three blockages were discovered. Blockages of 90%, 80% and 50% were discovered. At the present time David is scheduled for triple bypass surgery Thursday (11/113).
David is currently resting comfortably with his wife Bobbi by his side. Mrs. East asks everyone to keep their family in your prayers always, but especially during this time. Please visit David’s website at: www.DavidEast.net or david@gospelsounds.info to send get well wishes.

OK, Saints, Crank It Up! The phone calls and emails have satarted early this morning about my leaving the church. I have such a peace about it, and that's about all I can say to any of them! I believe I'm experiencing the "Peace that passeth understanding".
