Sarah thank you so much for the update. It sounds like Donna may still be in the "shock cocoon" that tends to protect in events like this at first.
Glad she will be able to shower and sleep in her own bed.

I had Googled the reports on the accident and yes they both stated that the farm vehicle crossed into Brian's lane.
I'm praying for that farmer too.

I also read a report on this. The other man must be at fault, as it was a head on collision and the tractor had crossed the line. Do tractors have to be insured to be on the road? I'm wondering if the man driving the tractor even has insurance.

That would not be a good idea. Donna is pretty careful to keep her actual hometown and last name off the 'net. Some of us happen to know their name and so we can google it, but unfortunately, we can't share it--it would be a TOS violation.

I'm confused?? Was that because someone asked 4 a link??

Donna is safe. I *tried* to find a link and nodda! All I can say [after seeing how many tractor related accidents there are] that its a MIRACLE he's alive! All Glory & Honor to our Lord on high!

In the interest of making sure everyone understands, I want you to know that no one did anything wrong and you (and no one else) is in trouble. Everyone here is very concerned about Donna and her family. We have come to love her. In the midst of that, it may be difficult not to give out her personal information, so we have to be careful. Posting a link to the articles would identify them and break tos.

I didn't really want to post the nudge, especially with all the red and stuff, but I felt it was necessary to make sure that we all remember to be careful not to violate Donna's privacy.

So I really cannot discuss it further, as I do not want to violate tos by doing so.

Thank you all for your understanding.

just talked with her on the phone...he is still having some issues when he wakes up, not knowing where he is...but overall still doing ok. They did the surgery on his leg and arm...have them wrapped...still nothing on when they will deal with his hip though (his pelvis has a break).

Praise though is that the newspaper article says the tractor came into Brian's lane, and they get their info from the police....so they know it wasn't Brian's fault at all. That's one less stress for sure!!!

Donna may get on tomorrow night...her SIL is taking the night shift for her so she can go home and get a shower and some good sleep in a bed. She said she is having computer withdrawals, so I am guessing she will get on to check on things around here as soon as she can. She sounds good though...handling things pretty well.

Thanks so much for updating us Sarah. I can't even begin to understand what they are all going through. I just feel so terrible for Brian. It seems so painful and scary for him right now. I am glad that they found out it wasn't Brian's fault... but man that tractor driver has got to be totally freaked out right now. I think we should all pray for him too.

the article that I found when I was on the phone with her had a map and all sorts of personal info about them and the area they live in, so she specifically said for me to not post a link to it on here because of that.

oh someone above asked about the driver of the tractor....according to the article he was not hurt.

it's ok , just wanted to say that she specifically asked me not to post it. Like someone said, if you know their name and where they live then you can find it easily though. It's pretty much just the info I gave here, just in different sentences...very short article...no pics or anything.

she sounds much better today y'all. I called her this morning. She got some sleep and a shower. Brian is starting to make more sense and settle down...
She's planning on taking a night off, his sister and dad are going to spend the night with him. So hopefully she'll get on here and check in.

ok...got more news....
good mostly (YAY!!!) some not too good, but not too bad (considering).....
  • they put him in some sort of back brace today for two spine fractures (they look like old fractures that he never knew about...they are going to do more with that later...not really something that they feel is necessarily a NOW thing)
  • He was put on a soft food diet. She figured it would be liquid first, but nope...soft foods!!!
  • they unwrapped his leg today and she said it doesn't look as bad as she thought it would....nothing that will be too horribly bad once it heals. I mean it's weird looking, but she thinks the scarring won't be as bad as she thought it would be.
  • the orthopedic dr came in to see Brian and hopefully friday they will do the surgery on his pelvis fracture...so keep that in prayer
  • and as far as work goes, they are saying he won't be able to get back to work for 6-9 months...much longer then she thought/was told originally.

As far as Donna though, her BP is still pretty high. Her feet are very swollen (so much that she is going to get new larger shoes when her SIL takes over tonight). Hopefully her sleeping in a bed tonight and not a recliner chair will help the swelling in her feet go down some. (She is due with their baby in just 6 weeks, so she is down to the hard part of any pregnancy anyway, esp with her BP problems and kidney's not seeming to want to work so well).

Sooooo...that's the latest....plus what Sandy said.....yay for her shower!!!! Hospitals can be pretty yucky feeling, so a few days in there without a shower can be kinda icky !!!

Sarah, thank you for all the good news. I think even the 6 to 9 month thing is good news. Assuming, of course, that someone's insurance pays him lost wages, as it should. Being home for the baby and the surgery that Donna is having is going to be a good thing.

I love you, Donna, and have been praying!

(((((((((((Donna)))))))))))))) Still praying for you Brian & the kids. God has all power including speeding his recovery so he can be back to normal & back to work sooner. My Fil was in a bad accident several years ago & I was amazed at how quickly he healed. He was in his late 70s at the time. He's in better health today than he's been in years. God can do anything!!
