Your right it is preseason but sometimes that can show a team's depth or lack thereof. Yeah the Bucs were great! Brady was complaining about his other foot now. Is it the shoes?

True but you have a real assortment of players out there. They also don't run any exotic schemes and that is one of the Pats fortes.

Speaking of the Pats they played bad again. Its one think to have a stinker in preseason but their level of play so far has to concern them (and their fans) regardless of it being preseason.

I never realized disappointed was spelt "Kansas City Chiefs". What an atrocity of a game they played, sheesh.

Thus far, Cowboys are my early pick. Quite the game between them and Houston.

Pats and Chiefs first week, should be something (and by something I mean a possible disaster).

Maybe the off season was less fruitful for some teams. A player may leave and go to another team and adds that sometimes unquantifiable aspect to a team thus subtracting that from the team they left.

Speaking of subtractions, I wonder what effect the loss of Osi Umenyiora to the Giants will be and will someone be able to fill that void? It heartbreaking to see some of the best on a team not make it past pre-season.

The Colts aren't typically a good preseason team, but the absence of Manning and Sorgi will slow progress. Manning is supposed to be ready Week one, but he may be a bit rusty. I've always wanted Jared Lorenzen to succeed because it gives big lugs somebody to related to.

Very true. One Mr. Strahan may be ready to take his place which would minimize theimpact.

Speaking of preseason injuries Shawn Merriman needs to stay away from a football field this year. He has two torn ligaments and if he plays (as he is considering) he may be putting his career at risk. Get proper surgery, get healed and come back next year Shawn, it isn't worth the risk.

They were commenting on the Strahan situation in the SD-SEA game. The "expert analysts" said he wouldn't come back irregardless but then again, that's what Favre said! I am sure if the money is right, he'll come back.

BTW, what an awesome game that was! Charlie Frye played incredibly well. It's also amazing that SD got the win, their defense was horrible. Since some predict SD in the Super Bowl we'll have to see how they play with LT back.

At least Chiefs didn't get trampled tonight. What poor weather conditions they had in Kansas City, causing a 90 minute delay in the game, then weather occurred once more throughout the second half. Good game, nonetheless, somewhat sloppy, but at least we got the win.

Who would of thought that Detroit would be 4-0 in pre-season play. The lowly Lions are starting to learn how to roar!

Don't bet on it. I'm firmly convinced that as long as the Lions have Matt Millan running the show there, they might as well have a black cat on their helmets.... much like the one that seems to cross their path after about week 4 of the regular season.

I'm not a fan of any particular team and usually not a prognosticator of the upcoming season. But I do like to see the underdog teams do well, such as Arizona,Detroit, and even Cleveland although their pretty good now. And living in the Atlanta area I naturally want to see the Falcons win,but wonder why so many are picking them to finish dead last.
Even most local radio shows don't see them winning more than 7 games, and even that's stretching it!
But I think Matt Ryan will come into his own midway through the season and at least give them a fighting chance. As crazy as it sounds I think they could go 9-7,and playing in the worst division might be good enough to win it outright.
But looks like the Giants will still be the team to beat and Seattle could be as good as they were a couple of years ago.
Detroit has enough talent to win their division now that Favre is gone, and if Barry Sanders was still playing would win a lot more than that.

I really don't like the AFC and besides the same teams are good every year. Nothing new there, but watch out for the J-E-T-S!
yeah I know, all we need is another team from New York, geez.
But i think Favre has something to prove, and not only to himself.
Just how I see it...

The NFL Network is showing all the preseason games today, for anyone interested. It's currently Giants/Patriots playing.

CANT BELIEVE THAT THE SEASON IS STARTING THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should be a half decent game between the Niners-Cardinals. Plus Warner is the Qb right now wich is good. Hope he dose well.

Dose anybody know if the Pack are playing the Jets at Lambo this year? Now that would be a game to see.

No they are not. The AFC East (the Jets division) plays the NFC West (Seattle, Arizona, SF, Rams) and not the NFC North (Green Bay's division) this season. The next time the Jets and Packers will play (barring a Super Bowl of truly epic proportions and matching hype) is in 2010 if I am not mistaken. Also, since their 2006 game was in Lambeau I'm almost certain the 2010 game will be at the Jets stadium as I believe they rotate them.

Note that it doesn't always work that way in the AFC since two games are determined by position in the standings and its much harder in that case to do the home and home thing. Thats why your favorite team may be visiting a big conference rival (who is not in their division) several years in a row.

BTW: The Pack traded Farve to the Jets for just this reason (as opposed to say the Bucs). There appears to be no chance that Farve will ever play at Lambeau Field again unless he changes teams again.

Thanks for the info. Checked the skedule and they are playing my niners so that should be interesting.

Prognostication for Thursday game. The Giants will win. Why? They are playing in NY and the Skins defense hasn't been real great the last two games.

The season starts today! No more excuses for any team from now on that they "weren't playing their starters to take a look at other players" as their justification for their loss.

Are you ready for some football?!

The Giants will win. My reason is that the defending Super Bowl champs are unbeaten in the last several years. I don't think its a coincidence. Returning heroes in their home stadiums, the championship banners being raised, all the pomp and circumstance really fire these guys up.

So another season begins. There are so many questions about our favorite teams. It will take a season to get all the answers but the exam starts tonight!

Ah, the smell of sweat in the air as grown men collide in a stadium as the audience applauds, as the mascots taunt, as the cheerleaders do quadruple somersaults into handstands, as barbecues are thrown even in the harshest weathers and smelt worldwide, as triumph is held from just a touchdown away...

Yes, yes I am more than ready for football.

I think the Giants are going to have an easy win over the Redskins.

It was ugly, but a W nonetheless.

Eli had a tough time connecting with his receivers but their defence gave the Skins QB lots of pressure.

But you're right a W nonetheless!

Of course anytime the Redskins, Raiders of Patriots lose is a good day in football for me. If the Steelers win, that's just icing on the cake!

Sunday's Prognostications:
Detroit over Atlanta
Baltimore over Cincinati
Seattle over Buffalo
Jets over Miami
NE over the Chiefs (reality, not by choice)
New Orleans over Tampa
Eagles over Lambs (I mean Rams)
Steelers over Texans
Jaguars over Titans
Dallas over Browns
Chargers over Panthers
Cards over 49er's
Colts over Bears

Mondays games will be close but:
Green Bay over Vikings
Denver over Raiders
