I did not go to the gym last night. Now it has beeen a week. I started TOM, so I was just too tired. Last time I went to the gym on that same day, I was so tired, so I think I just need to let my body rest. But tonight I must go to the gym. I need to get a good run in. I am missing it.

That is great!

For the first time ever I got a runners high. This was only after running for 30 mins and then doing 15 mins on the elliptical. I got back on the track and felt like I could run forever. It was suprising and intriguing.

I paid for it today.

We just got back from exercising. DH did 30 minutes on the treadmill and I did 20 minutes on the stationary bike. Not too intense but better than nothing. We are celebrating a small victory. DH had a follow-up doctor visit today and his blood pressure was 150/95 three weeks ago and today it was 130/80. Woohoo! We are working to get his cholesterol down from 266. He has a follow-up for blood work in another 2 months.

400 crunches last night while holding 8lbs of weight.

Ran 5 miles today.

Yesterday was a good day. I took a 5 mile bike ride and did a 30 minute pool workout.

I had a tough work out the past two days. My step class is turning into step/weights cardio. It is tough and we did so many crunches. Well Friday I was sore, so it was very hard to run, but I did it! Since I got of work early, I also did 40 min weights, as I have been missing my weight workouts (except what we do in class).

Today I am so sore. But a good sore.

Bluh... I started off the week with the flu and haven't done much of anything else. Swim practice is going to be interesting tomorrow.

I started an intensive training program this week. I want to shorten workout time and increase the intensity. I can really tell a difference. It is hard. I tried it before but wimped out. Not again.

Thanks! I want to be able to squeeze an hour a day at least 5 times a week but make it as productive an hour as I can. I would rather be sitting on my butt surfing the net drinking coffee. I often have to make myself go and the feeling I get afterwards is one of exhuberance and a little pride. I pray the whole time for help.

Thank God February is over. New month keep it movin! Got in 60 mins today. My work schedule has changed more times than I like(from morning to nights, to early morning) and it's thrown off my eating habits and my exercising but hopefully this month will be better.

I got to the gym last night and did my full workout! Yeah! I am up to 3.52 miles in 47 min Not super fast, but getting there.

I have a gripe. I was running much faster, but I saw online that you really need to have the treadmill at 4.0 to get the feel of running outside. I was running at an incline of 2.0 and moved my speed down really far so I could up my incline, then work my way back up for speed again. I don't want to hurt myself.

I see people running super fast and no incline and I think that is not good for you... I know I am a snob. LOL! But one guy really bugs me, I see him at the gym a lot and he puts the incline up high and the speed up super fast (probably over 7.5-8.0) and then he has his hands on the bars of the treadmill and they are holding him up off the ground. That is not running.

Gripe #2 - I was waiting for the step machine yesterday and the guy on it was sweating like crazy. He, again, was laying on the machine while it was going, bad form. Well when he was done he wipes down the top, but the whole machine was soaked. I tried to use it, but it was too gross, so I had to go get a lot of towels and spray at the place and clean it off after him. Gross!

Reach,

We all have gripes when it comes to doing our thing where others do theirs. However, we do ourselves a big favor when we are able to put the focus on our physical goals rather than what is going on around us. I often laugh at myself when I see older and fatter guys blowing me away by their running and/or weight lifting abilities. As for sweat and germs, keep your hands washed and away from your face. It's a gym! No matter how well someone wipes down a piece of equipment, it aint good enough.

Finally! Personally, wearing myself out in 30 mins. rather than 60 mins. is more productive and better for me. I wish I could run fast for an hour but I just don't have the ability. I can run fast for a few minutes at a time for several intervals within 30-40 mins. I can jog at around 5.3 for 30 mins but my body gets used to it.

This whole working out thing involves upsetting what your muscles expect. I think I'm finally getting it.

You must go where I do...I saw the same sort of guy just tonight...as I was feeling all proud of myself maintaining a 3.4mph at a 3.5 incline...

I walked on the treadmill, 1 mile, then did some stretches and ab work, then ran into a friend and we walked another mile on the track.

Dh and I did a brisk walk(about a mile) then I did 1 1/2 hrs of cardio, strength and abs. That ab workout is so much more lovely once I've done a brisk walk w/abs pulled in. Thank God for spring right around the corner!

I was so confident in my abilities that I jumped up to the high intensity EA Active workout today. It nearly killed me! A lot of squats, squat lunges, and squat holds. And a lot of running.

I'm anxious for spring, too. I'm ready to get outside and tackle the couch to 5K program. After EA active, I think I can handle it.
