Janine: I am a little partial to the name joshua, my husbands name is joshua, I love it that combination, I think its wonderful, congrats on having a name to call your little guy! Ryanne: Happy to hear about your "new" clothes, it's always nice to be able to find something that makes you feel good when youre wearing it. Brandy: Congrats! Not even close to needing them, but if I find a good bargain over the holliday season, how do you buy maternity clothes? How do you know what size you will be able to wear? What are the absolute must haves?

Thanks girls. It's encouraging to hear about others early stories. I've just been worrying so much the past week! I've never been pregnant before, and I know symptoms come and go, but I got so scared when eveything went away last week and I stopped feeling pregnant. I really hope the bean is ok and I'm just a lucky one. I'll be 8w4d on Friday at our next u/s. Prayers for calmed nerves and more faith would be appreciated. :-)

What are the absolute must haves? I find that most of them fit according to your pre-preg size. Must haves... comfy jeans, a good quality pair of yoga pants for wearing in public, comfy shirts... I'm not lucky enough to have my boobs grow so I just wear my regular bras. Hmm.. I think that's about it. Nothing really special, basically the maternity version of whatever you normall wear.

What is a good nickname for Mariella? We already have an Ella in the family. Maybe Ari? Maria was a wonderful woman, a very close friend of my family who passed away a year ago in January. I would love to name a child after her. She was the epitome of the type of woman that I want to be. Devoted wife and mother, the type that you think of when you hear "her children will rise up and call her blessed". I miss her

Thank you ladies! We're very happy they will be close in age and hoping for smooth sailing even tho I'm already super nauseous all day long! Kim, I would love your doula's info and I guess.. when do you call one? How far in advance? I still have to call the Dr's office here! I have a good friend named Marisol and we call her Mari with a soft A like apple.

Why not Mari? It's a popular name here, pronounced 'mar-ee'.

Congratulations, Brandy! Archer, if the disappearance of your symptoms is really stressing you out, I'd recommend that you call your doctor/midwife/whoever you'll be seeing, if only to help you put your mind at ease. Kia, I'm in the same quandary as you re maternity clothes. The best transitional stuff for me were the Belly Belt and Belly Band--basically gadgets that let you keep wearing your pre-mat clothes, although not everybody likes them. Also two pairs of pants one size too big. What you'll need depends on a lot of things; the climate where you live, whether you work outside the home and what the dress code is if you do, and whether your skin can handle rewearing clothes before washing them. Eg I have a rash on my torso that gets worse if I rewear anything, so I need more tops since we only do laundry 1x/week. It also depends on your pre-pregnancy shape; a lot of non-maternity tops work great through pregnancy if your top half isn't too big (baby dolls and empires for example). If you're ordering online, it's worth checking out a store in person to try on; eg I find the Gap size Medium fits rather snugly in the arms and shoulders, whereas the Large everywhere else is just too big. For me, dress pants are more of a must-have than jeans, since I am still at work; I can only wear jeans to work on Friday, but I could wear dress pants every day without people wondering why I wasn't dressing down on Fridays, or at church. Thank goodness my office is not formal enough that I need to get a jacket, but it is cold enough that I need cardigans. And I'm hoping to find more turtlenecks... or maybe one of those turtleneck-like things that go under whatever top you're wearing. Ryanne, I have friends who have nicknamed their daughter Mary "Mar" (pronounced "Mare"--no idea how they spell it). Sometimes Mar-Mar as well. I think it's pretty cute.
