http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIuQ2n4GvNA Deer. Lithe. In their strength and beauty, thrist comes. Their Creator made them this way. God makes us this way, too. Not the thirst of desperation, but that of confident longing that anticipates fulfillment. "You alone are my heart's desire, and I long to worship you."

The following is one of the most uplifting songs I've heard in any church. I've always thought it a shame that it is not sung by evangelicals or Protestants...just because Catholics sing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4CapSBM8UA&NR=1

quote:
He is chicken soup for the cynical soul. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Lioness. I like how you said that about the soup. Selective sips are better that gullible gulps. We need to have a "G.K." day where everything Chesterton is "honoured" . In addition to discussing his writings, we can eat to our hearts' content (as he appears to have enjoyed gastronomy), laugh most jocularly, bask in witticisms, and say "Piffle!" to unbelief. Have you ever noticed MrFribbles' sig line? It's, "To the humble man, and to the humble man alone, the sun is really a sun; to the humble man, and to the humble man alone, the sea is really a sea." -G. K. Chesterton I like to think that this humility was obtained through the Providential seasicknesses of life.

1 John 1:1; 4-7 1The Word that gives life was from the beginning, and this is the one our message is about. Our ears have heard, our own eyes have seen, and our hands touched this Word. 4We are writing to tell you these things, because this makes us truly happy. 5Jesus told us that God is light and doesn't have any darkness in him. Now we are telling you. 6If we say that we share in life with God and keep on living in the dark, we are lying and are not living by the truth. 7But if we live in the light, as God does, we share in life with each other. And the blood of his Son Jesus washes all our sins away. I don’t know about you, but I envy those who heard, touched and saw our Lord. Just imagine: their senses witnessing the Substance of their faith. Where God is, there is no darkness. When we leave ours to walk in His Light, we do not walk in darkness. If there is a change (and we know there is), it is because of our new position and role. Yes, role. This is something we are living out. This is more of a “confessing” than a confession. There is creed, but this is an encunciation, the result of a Holy Spirit fallout. We might have experienced a detonation of faith—a dramatic conversion or an incremental radicalization—a gradual exposure to God’s Glory and Grace, but in the end, the results are the same: Hear, oh Israel, the Lord thy God is One God’s Oneness of being, purpose and thought are ours in Christ. No shadow of turning. All is Light. We are as secure as the revealed Trinity-God is One. In this, part of us rests and the other grabs the oar for a tremendous voyage of God’s design. We can only be taken apart spiritually, and wholly, if the unity of God can be breached, and that is not possible. The impetus to come daily to the Altar? It is that because God believes, we cannot falter when under His dominion! God believes in that He knows He Is—and in His Being, He has designed that His Remnant be His. Brothers, sisters, let us remember that Our Deliverer has brought us to His side! Meditate on this as you watch the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Frn8m9Ovs5g&feature=related [Later, you could listen to a different session with Mitch McVicker . . . you can hear him better on this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olm8SNutMko&feature=related. The song starts at Time 2:25, although there's a nice intro]

Anyone frequenting these postings can see I have an affinity for the music ministries of Rich Mullins and Mitch McVicker. Both travelled together before Rich went to be with Jesus. In the following, I can just picture Rich slapping his knee and laughing--and thanking God that Mitch recovered from their vehicle accident broken bones, coma and all--enough to still minister in creative ways at coffee houses and other venues around the country: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocNVZ4QMPLc

Wrapped in the humility of this brother is profound adoration for the Master. The beauty of the words are impacting. For instance: The stone was rolled away, the day that I was healed, They found an empty grave, the day that I was healed. The Word is Lord to him and the Word is opened to him. The Lord has met him in his circumstances. Hear a child in the background? This revelation is power for living. What greater treasure can a person possess, our Pearl of Great Price? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIVyURIMchM

As believers in Messiah Jesus, our lives are marked by faith-expressions all day long . . . thoughts . . . punctuated by acts of obedience. In the midst of this grace . . . our praise flows Heaven-forward. Different themes, pointing to the Same Redeemer. Here, a brother shares such succinct praises. You can picture him humming these while he's going about his work: http://www.youtube.com/user/GARU4YOU#p/u/6/IlCKJsVWNR0 "A Man of Sorrows" http://www.youtube.com/user/GARU4YOU#p/u/1/_EJ27_lXEr0 "Soar on the wings like Eagles"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ2CtfJyH6k&feature=related Being a brother's keeper is a blessed ministry. We get to point to Truth, focusing on strengths. We guard the freedom of each brother and sister, we help them stand.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwZztqosIbE&feature=PlayList&p=3FD0B8040CFA5A61&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=6 When Jehovah God gave His Word to Moses and the Prophets, his servants were the original codetalkers, the Holy Spirit enabling. When you watch the wording of this song sung by Navajos, one wonders at the grace by which the Good News is now preached to the Gentiles. See how the grace of God squeezes into the words of diverse peoples to show, in reality, how great the love of Jesus is! We may be wowed by a Bach hymn or a Spurgeon sermon, but even these men used a language as foreign from Hebrew as Navajo. Truly, God longs to share His glory with us.

I jotted this down as a song this morning. The singing accounts for the choppy lyrics. THEME: I read in the NT how Paul describes a man (himself?) who was taken into the 3rd Heaven (above the earth's atmospheric heaven and the heaven of the stars that we see). There, Paul describes things said that "are not lawful to say". I understand this to mean that there are descriptions about God and heaven too high for us to hear on this earth. Then I thought about how we get so wound up in trying to tightly define beliefs and live by them - and about the labels we put on ourselves. If we would start from the realization that the best that God has revealed to us is purposely not all of it (because His Glory is so great), we would be careful to not let the dominion He has given us go to our heads--and our efforts wouldn't get lost in the trees of insignificance and among those neat rows of clipped reasonings that, important as they are, only serve to adorn the One Who gives revelation. Oh, there are things that are not lawful to say, it’s only that Heaven is so far away. We’re like beggars let into a camp, the Fire’s lit, there is singing, and the Voice of Many Waters echoes an incomprehensible Love. I don’t get far in saying “I Protest”, “I’m Universal”, all of that pales like the shade on the smallest of trees. Teach me, Lord, teach me, Teach me, Lord, teach me, I am your disciple for Eternity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lord, there’s a certain craft You give each one to employ, reflections of Your carving, creative ways. We’re like carpenters building a temple, the Fire’s lit, Jehovah’s Glory apprehends us in an incomprehensible Love. We don’t get far in saying “We Protest”, “We’re Universal”, all of that pales like the shade on the smallest of trees. Teach us, Lord, teach us, Teach us, Lord, teach us, We are your disciples for Eternity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Behold, all things new, new. Behold, all things new, new. We sing it with our Savior, sing it with our Savior. There’s no part of the whole more precious than another. We’ll leave the shells of self and theology, when we shall be known by Him, just as He is known: He is Love! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We’re like carpenters building a temple, the Fire’s lit, Jehovah’s Glory apprehends us in an incomprehensible Love. We don’t get far in saying “We Protest”, “We’re Universal”, all of that pales like the shade on the smallest of trees. Teach us, Lord, teach us Teach us, Lord, teach us, We are your disciples for Eternity.
