So true Diva. I know those 4 years will go by and I'll be amazed that they went so fast.

When the kids were young I used to say that sometimes the days felt like years and the years flew by like days!

Sounds like you have a busy Thursday coming up. I have a busy work day tomorrow, which is partially why I called in sick this morning when I woke up with a nasty headache. Figured it's better to take at least this morning to rest and feel better since tomorrow is a very full day. Meetings . Lots of meetings tomorrow.

Now that the head feels better I'm trying to convince myself to go into work for the afternoon, but I'm having a hard time with it!!

Did you go to work in the afternoon? I think I would have stayed home.

Tomorrow is a long day. I leave my house about 8:30am and get home about 7:30pm. Then Friday I sorta veg out.

My catkids are curled up here--one is snoring--making me sleepy. So I am off to dreamland.

Type at ya tomorrow...

You have a long day. Do you let your "catkids" roam? I used to have a dog but I felt so guilty of keeping her in my then-tiny house I gave her to an old farmer couple. They though she was the best thing. Made the whole family sad but happy...

I think Diva's catkids sound way to spoiled to do much "roaming". They know when they have it good!!

Too bad you had to give you dog up jhuperetes - but it sounds like she got a good home.

We thought the same way Diva, I decided not to go in ti wirj that afternoon! Today was busy though! Meetings all morning, lots of stuff to do in the afternoon, more meetings... blech.

I'm hoping tomorrow is a quiet day in the office. Monday will be a day off, so I'm looking forward to the 3 day weekend.

Hi Y'all

My catkids do not roam. In fact their paws have never touched earth. I live in a hi rise so no yard--they sit on the balcony and sun themselves and watch the pigeons.

Gma you have it right--they are too spoiled--they would never go far from their mama.

I would love to have a dog, jhuperetes. It would have to be a small one cause my place is small. And again with no yard I would have to take it out on a leash. That doesn't seem fair.

Nice you have a long week end, Gma. Any plans?

I will work Monday--retail works most holidays.

I have worked retail too Diva, so I know how that is!

I think I'll try to find my summer clothes so I can start to get things together for my Arizona trip, maybe make a trip to the mall if I need to supplement the current summer colthes. Monday I will be taking care of my Grandkids for part of the day so my DIL can get out to make some final decisions about new countertops and flooring for thier kitchen project.

Not too much else as far as I know.

Do you work all weekend, or just Monday?

Oh, I am a spoiled divabrat--I only work two days a week Would like to work two more days but I am so efficient I get my work done in two. I have been looking for another part time job but right now nobody is hiring.

Tough job taking care of your grandkids--bet you have to have your arm twisted to do that. Although they probably wear you out. If we could just bottle their energy.

Maybe you shouldn't buy clothes before you go. If you are like me you will see things you want when when you are in AZ.

It may be true that I'll find some things I want in Az, but then I'm not too sure how much "shopping" we'll do.

The grandkids do wear me out sometimes- I have a much better understanding of my own Gma when she used to say we made her "glad twice; glad to see us come, and glad to see us go!" LOL. Last time I got lucky and we "played" playdough for quite awhile, we can sit while doing that .

I'll have to think of something fun to do with them.

Hmm, I think I'm going to head off to bed soon since I still have to go to w*@k tomorrow. Bummer.

LOL, I know - what am I thinkin'??

I'm really not sure what we'll do. And since it should be sunny and warm, I am not sure I care what we do! I'll just enjoy the weather if nothing else.

Well, you could fly out and meet us . I'm sure my brother & SIL wouldn't mind, lol.

It will be nice to get to know his wife better. They've been married for several years, but we don't get to see each other too often so I've never really felt like I know her well. And then she will be coming back up North a couple days before I come back home, so my brother and I will have 2 days with just the two of us- that will be nice too.

Holidays are for kicking back and relaxing with friends and family! <in the tune of "there is no crying in baseball">There is no shopping on holidays?!?

I have to go to work, but I am so blessed! I have work! I just haven't figured where I am going to stuff the kids in my cubicle . . . No school, no sitter . . .

Gma--that is wonderful that you will have a couple of days with just you and your brother. I know you want to get to know your SIL better but when we grow up we really lose touch with our siblings. I always had a special relationship with my brothers. My younger brother died a few years ago and I miss him. My older brother lives about 800 miles away--but I know he is as close as an e-mail or phone call.

jhuperetes--it is a blessing to have work. Maybe you could tell them at work that it is bring your kids to work day--sort of like a career day. Probably be frowned upon.

Well I am tuckered out so off to bed.

Y'all carry on and I will be back tomorrow--Lord willin and if the creek don't rise.

G'Night Diva, I'm headed off to bed too. (and this time I mean it... I really do!)

Jhuperetes, hope you can find a place for those kidlets in your cubicle, do you have any of those hooks that go over the top of the cubbies? Maybe you could just hang 'em up there.

Good Night...............

Well it is Friday night and I have done nothing all day. Well I did talk to someone at Social Security and play on the computer and write in my journal and eat. But over all pretty much a nothing day.

Tomorrow is another day.

A day when I will move and do something. Like laundry. I do not mind doing laundry but it would be nicer if I had a washer and dryer in my condo. The machines are downstairs. It is not really all that bad--better than going to a laundromat for sure. I just want to complain about something.

I also need to clean off the top off my desk. The piles on it are getting out of control and are threatening to collapse and make an even bigger mess. Every time I clean it up I tell myself I will not let it get so messy again. Somehow I forget that.

I can mail you a set. You think a 49¢ stamp will do? I have set of white neptunes sitting in my basement. Of course, it might not fit in your condo...

Covered desk? I make one consolidated large pile, then I go through it in one sitting. Most of my papers are fillings and such.

Kids solved. Thanks for asking. Hooks? Duct tape. works much better, leaves no mess. They will visit their mother.

Hi jhuperetes

We are not permitted to have washer and dryers in our condos. It is an old building and the plumbing and electric would have to be upgraded.

My desk has more than paper on it. Kid's crafts, books, yarn, boxes, lots of random stuff. It is strange I let it get so messy cause I am really a pretty neat type peep.

Glad the kids aren't going to be locked in the attic. Good ole mom.

Bummer. I remember college days when I had to lug stuff to other floors. A troublesome, but also an opportunity to meet with people.

A bit of mess is okay, as long as I get to periodically clean it up. I dislike permanent mess.

Yes, attic would have been inconvenient, although it warmed up for tonight. I will have the windows open.

How nice that the weather is such that you can open the windows. It is cold here. Well it is in the 50's which isn't terribly cold but anything below 60 is considered cold here.

I am doing laundry now. Had a ton to do cause I did not get quarters until yesterday. I actually like doing laundry--getting out of the dryer and folding it--sort of comforting and relaxing to me.

Going to make chili for supper. I seem to be on a chili kick--have had it a lot lately. Next time I go to the grocery I am going to get the fixens for beef stew. Yummers.

It was 39F last night.

Do you separate colors? I am pretty picky about whites separated, but anything else... just into the washer & dryer. Folding is my bane. It is one of the kids' chores. I love them dearly, but no matter how many times I show them how to fold, they come up with their own version of origami folding!

What kinds of chili? I had some fish and steamed vegetables for a very late lunch.

The only separating of colors I do is light and dark. And white is always on its own.

Eating my chili now. It is good. I like ground beef and dark red kidney beans, onions, celery, and diced tomatoes. I use a seasoning mix packet ans add chili powder and a few hot peppers..sometimes it makes my lips burn
