Last night was a little better. When that one guy sang, (the one who had 3 near death experiences) I could not tell if Mary was really upset or laughing. The reenactments of his 3 near death experiences, I felt were in poor taste. Brian, the singing policeman has a soulful quality to his voice. I feel bad for the girl from Vanore, Tennessee. She seems to be a nice girl and I feel that Hollywood will eat her up. And the guy says that he can deal with criticism. He sure has a funny way of showing it, bleeping everybody off. Can't wait to see Shania Twain judge next week.

I went over to the AI forums to see what fans were saying about Vanessa (from small town Tenn. and bridge jumped). They love her! I think people like her because she is real. I do think that Hollywood is going to overwhelm her.

Intersting piece on General Larry Platt, the 62 year old guy that closed the show with "Pants on the Ground"

I agree Kathy Bryan did a great job and you and I know what he did last night only showed a small portion of his talent!

I thought the show was very boring. I put picture in an album while I watched and then my DVR fliiped over to the Middle which is always very funny.

I agree. Mary J. Blige was very rude at times. I hope they don't bring her back as a guest judge. I thought Victoria at least tried to be nice to the contestants.

Bryan was my favorite from last night!! Sure hope he does well.

I was annoyed watching Mary J Blige laugh at the contestants who were serious about singing (even if they weren't very good). I know some of them are funny, but she seemed rude and childish.

Yeah, Bryan!

Oh...my...goodness...I am never wasting my money on Blige's albums. That was just terrible. Like Redeemed, I couldn't tell whether she was laughing or crying at 3 Death guy. When it became clear that she was laughing, though, I nearly turned my TV off I was so disgusted. You took the words right out of my mouth, Weeble...rude and childish. I kept thinking, "Geesh, could we try to act a little more grown-up instead of like a high schooler?" And that little video by the producers was just tacky and tasteless. My grandmother was a Southern lady and that's what she would have called it.

It's funny...when that blond girl was on a few seasons ago doing her "I'm just this little ol' hick who don't know nothin'" schtick, I hated it. I felt it was too phony. I liked Vanessa from Vonore, though. She kind of struck me as a young Dolly Parton, trying to flee a go-nowhere life in the backwoods. They say that Dolly is actually pretty ambitious and shrewd behind that hick demeanor, and I think this girl might turn out to be the same.

I thought I wouldn't like guitar-dressed chick, either, but she kind of grew on me...

Pants on the ground...pants on the ground...I think Simon was right. We might have a hit on our hands.

I thought the 2 shows were really good. Some of them were really terrible! The guy with the weird hair and who they said dressed like LaToya was really strange! Where do these people come from anyway and why do they think they can sing? I wouldn't mind having 15 min. of fame or more but not if I have to embarrass myself or my family. The one who really amazed me was the girl who had the really country voice, from the south somewhere. I did not expect that voice to come out of her. Wow. I liked the guy who sang in church and got paid to sing. I figured he had to be a good singer. They don't pay you to sing in church if you sing like weird hair guy. Some of them had voices I would pay to hear and others, I wouldn't listen to if you give me free tickets or a free CD.

The guy who really got to me was that black guy who thought he was God's gift to the singing world. When they told him he couldn't sing and how bad he was, he got so mad he had to be escorted out of there and escorted into the parking lot, all the while swearing and asking who the judges were and saying Mary J was nobody. That guy needed help.

I can't wait to see next week. I hope the ones I liked still stay on.

I was at work last night but after seeing these posts, I had to go around the firewall to see "pants on the ground."

My other thoughts, after seeing it on my DVR:

• I don't think Skiboski will be able to knock off the other nonsense.
• I don't think the BFF's will be separated for long.
• The guy who said he'd "listen" and loved Mary J. needs serious anger management counseling. I do not think he'll get it.
• Perky talk show hosts annoy me.
• Mary J. needs to grow up. I felt sorry for 3 death guy.
• I wonder what Country Girl will do when it's R&B week, or Motown, or Michael Jackson, or ....
• I would have told Guitar Girl "I'm saying yes to you, not your guitar."
• I liked Church Boy and Singing Cop.
• In all ... they sent 25 people to Hollywood and we saw maybe 6 of them. There may indeed be a finalist lurking in this group, and we may not have seen that person yet.

TMZ reported that that Skiboski guy has an extremely long arrest history including one just last month since the auditions would have been held. He's been arrested for everything from dealing to resisting arrest to fleeing to robbery to you name it. I hope that means he won't be allowed on the show. If he is on the show, then that will be more incentive to DVR it and use my fast forward liberally. His voice wasn't bad, that's the sad part...

I've already heard remixes of Pants on the Ground. Could it be the anthem of 2010?

Last night was kind of dull. Shania did a great job judging. She listened intently and gave constructive criticism or praise. The marine that was Tiptoeing through the Tulips. Aye yi yi. To go on national tv and prance around. The girl with the big "ideas" (that is what I can say without being TOSed) not sure what to make of her. That's not a skill I would be proud of. All in all, no one is really standing out for me as of yet this season. Hopefully that will change.

I thought last night was kinda boring too. I wish we'd gotten to hear all of the ones who made it. I also liked Shania as a judge.

I am really a compassionate person, but enough with the sob stories! Do the producers think we are going to like people more because they had cancer, asthma, parents got divorced... and so on? I wish they'd let us form our on opinions on singing ability, not on problems they have had to face.

i wish they had shown more of the people who went to Hollywood, their singing I mean, not just them getting the Golden ticket. I think they should equally show the good and bad people.

Those ones who keep saying that everyone in my family can sing and then they sound like Simon said they sat on 2 cats must have family and friends who are totally deaf or tone deaf. If anyone I knew sang like that and told me that they were going to be on Idol, I'd say to them "Don't embarrass yourself by being on that show. They will only tell you to go home but everyone who sees it will laugh at it and you." How could you tell someone with a horrible voice that they should go on Idol?

I like the sob stories. You can't tell what happened to someone just bey looking at them except for the girl with the droopy face who I liked a lot. Can you imagine what would happen if she made it? Singing in the secular world is all about looks but hey, she should go for it.

The girl that almost died and had the inhaler with her, I kept thinking after her story, God must have wanted her for something special and maybe this is it, although I can't imagine how she would do if she has to use her inhaler a lot. I think it would be tough for her, but I say "You go girl".

The guy who kept insisting that he was really good and wouldn't leave & they had to handcuff him? I don't remember that ever happening before this year. I think he was stoned when he came in. He wasn't all there and he looked high. I guess you never know what you are going to get, do you?

I can't remember a lot of the ones I liked but this year and last I have been able to look at the people before they go in, listen to them talk or how they act, and I can tell if they are going to sound like they sat on 2 cats or they should be a star. Tonight, the girl with the droopy face, I kept watching her listening to her talk and I said "Mom, I think she can sing." Sure enough. The guy with the cowboy hat who had gone to jail, same thing. It's weird how I have been right every time.

Do you know what I wish Idol would do? I wish they would make a video of a lot of the bad ones and all of the good ones so we could see them. Put it on line. I don't think we saw enough good ones and we saw more bad ones. Let's see how many of these people make it after Hollywood. I also like Shania. She was a good judge. It' s to bad Christian Chenowith couldn't be on for both shows. I love her! She has an amazing voice!

I could careless about the back stories too. I'm not sure what's the intention behind it. I'm sure everybody who made it had some stories behind them....like how many of them had parents who divorced. For some reason, I'm thinking that they're exposing them more for viewers to remember for future votes. They've had back stories before but not as much as this year's shows.

I am rooting for the guy who has been to jail....He wants so much to do something good...I think he has a fairly decent voice and with the right coach could improve a great deal.

I became a fan of "Pants on the Ground" on Facebook.

Me, too!!!! Love General Larry! He was on "The View" on Monday. He actually marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. when he was 16!!! I hope all the young people in my neighborhood take heed!

I'm thrilled that Jermaine Purifoy is going to Hollywood. He was touring with a group called Day One last April when I met him. He is also a student at Lee University for those who followed "The Sing Off". His voice is AMAZING!!!

I liked some of Avril's music, but should she really have asked that pastor guy whether he could handle AI and his home commitments? Don't you think the guy has thought of that? It seemed she and Kara voted no just because they felt he would be away from his family and church. How arrogant of them in my view.

The female pastor was not asked but she seems to be single. I don't know...but I think it's a fair question but then it's just my opinion.

Actually, Kara voted yes..she cautioned him, but she must have voted yes, b/c he got through, and Katie had already voted no, and they have to have 3 out of 4 votes to get through.
